The charm and splendor of the carvings of this temple is reflected on the magnificent wooden works inside the temple. The renowned two storied circular twin Sanctum Sanctorium where "Perumthachan" the Master Architect had unified 64 wooden bars on a single pedal to construct the main roof is really a masterpiece of a Master craftsman. The "Mrugamala", depicting the pictures of more than 500 dragon faced animals is really a wonderful work. It is believed that the "Boothaganam" (group of devil) of Siva carved all these faces within a night's time. The Huge sacrficial stone and the idols of "Nandhi" which are protected by the Archeological Department along with other beautiful sculptures of "Dwarapalakars" are the splendid features of this Temple.
