'Karunya Benevolent Fund' provides financial aid for poor people suffering from serious ailments, affecting heart, kidney, liver and brain; cancer and palliative care, by raising funds through Kerala Lottery, Govt. of Kerala. Each patient is eligible for grants of up to Rs. 2 lakh.

The income generated through the sale of Karunya Lottery is exclusively devoted for extending financial assistance to the purpose.

Sir, I already donated my one kidney to a friend. I know from media, kidney donated living people are eligible for financial assistance of Rs. 1 Lakh. Can I apply for it?

First of all, please collect primary guidance from the hospital where your kidney donated. They will guide you which agencies provide this kind of assistances. Many charitable organizations are actively coordinating kidney transplantation programs. Contact one of them.

Our Karunya application is sanctioned on 23/7/18, amount INR 2,00,000.00 and this letter submitted to Kottayam medical college on 26/7/18. Operation (bypass surgery) date given by medical college on 15/11/18. Is there any need to renew the letter once it is submitted to hospital.

We get the Karunya benevolent fund for my cardiac surgery in Sree Chithira hospital Trivandrum. But my surgery date has been postponed to January. The expire date of Karunya fund is on January 2nd. Is there any renewal for that? If it is needed then when it has been done? After expiry date or before? Please send a reply for it.

Dear sir

As I come to know that, KBF providing Hemo dialysis for the kidney failure patients in private hospitals. The rate ceiling rate fixed Rs.650/= per session. So I have doubt about the rate fixed only for dialysis or it is cover the "Dialyiser", Blood tube and necessary consumables also
